Lead, Examining the Relationship between Orbital Stability and On-Orbit Servicing in Cislunar Space

Matthew Fox is a first-year master’s student pursuing a M.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering with a focus in dynamics and controls. He is from Parkersburg, WV and attended West Virginia University (WVU) as an undergraduate student where he graduated with a dual degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in May of 2023. During his senior year as an undergraduate student, Matthew worked on the Distributed Satellite Networks and Cislunar Space Domain Awareness team within the Space Systems Operations Research Group, competed in the 2023 NASA RASC-AL team competition by designing an on-orbit servicing station at the first Earth-Moon Lagrange point as a Mission Planning and Analysis sub team lead, and was a member of the manipulation sub team of WVU’s University Rover Challenge team. Matthew’s current research interests are in periodic orbit stability and optimal orbit siting of an on-orbit servicing station within cislunar space. Some of his hobbies and interests outside of research include SCUBA diving, learning new languages, playing chess, and catching up with friends.
